Your information, in plain English.
We collect as little as possible, we use it only to run the program, and we never sell it. This page explains exactly what that means — including what Quebec's privacy law (Law 25) requires for students 13 and under.
What we collect
When you fill in the sign-up form, we collect the information you type: name, email, phone, address, your category (student, parent, counselor), what you're interested in, and your message. When a student registers for a session, we also collect the student's date of birth, the parent or guardian's contact details, and payment confirmation (payments are processed by a secure payment provider; we never see or store card numbers).
The three free lessons and this website can be used without creating an account and without giving us any personal information.
Why we collect it
- To answer your questions and tell you about sessions, dates and registration.
- To run the program: attendance, class materials, the student portal, the certificate.
- To contact a parent or guardian quickly if needed during a session.
- To send occasional news about AIM — you can unsubscribe in one click, at any time.
Students 13 and under — a parent's consent
Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (updated by Law 25) says that personal information about a minor under 14 cannot be collected without the consent of a parent or guardian, unless it is clearly for the minor's benefit. So:
- If you are 13 or younger, please ask a parent or guardian to fill in the form and to register you.
- Every registration, at any age, is confirmed by a parent or guardian.
Who sees it
Only the AIM team (Rami Jaouadi and Ilyas Zakiat) and the service providers we need to run the website, email and payments. We never sell, rent or trade personal information, and we never share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
Sign-up form information is kept for up to 24 months after our last exchange. Student records are kept for the time needed to issue the certificate and to keep an attendance record, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, at any time. Write to hello@aimsummer.com — we answer within 30 days, usually much faster. The person responsible for the protection of personal information at AIM is Rami Jaouadi, reachable at the same address.
Security
The website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are sent over an encrypted connection and stored on access-controlled services. Student accounts will use individual passwords, and parents will have their own access.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we embed a video, it is loaded from YouTube's privacy-enhanced player only when you press play.
